Building: J Hislop Funeral Parlor

So far, we have shared the amazing art of Gunslingers from Life Out West (illustrated by our incredible artist, Steven Lambert). This week, we will be sharing the art from one of our Buildings, J Hislop’s Funeral Parlor.

The goal in Life Out West, is to be the first player to complete 6 Buildings in your Old West Town. Once completed, these Buildings allow players to benefit from in-game events or bend the rules in some way. A strategic player will always review their Building Card and its potential impact on gameplay before starting a Building Project. That said, if you ever pull the Funeral Parlor, look no further and spend the Action to place it in your Building Project space.

Why you ask? Well, as any good citizen of The West knows, an Undertaker loves to profit from a Town filled with Shootouts. And based upon the Gunslingers we have shared so far, trust me, there will be A LOT of Shootouts. And dead Gunslingers.

The art for our Buildings is a little different than Gunslingers. Still masterfully drawn by Steven, Buildings are not colored and have a more pencil line drawn feel, almost like a schematic or old-timey map of the city. I love how they add texture to the game and inspire your imagination as you see your Town come to life. They are also filled with details and easter eggs most players will not spot on the cards. Shown in their full size and glory here, take a moment to locate all the carefully constructed details of this Life Out West Building, clearly set on the edge of Town.

Cost:5 Resource Deck (1 Wheat, 2 Cattle, 2 Horses) / 7 Resource Deck (2 Wheat, 3 Cattle, 2 Horses)

Ability: Anytime a Gunslinger is gunned down in this Town, you may immediately draw a Resource Card.
