The folk in Rusty’s town are fond of saying, “Rusty may be half the man, but he has twice the heart”.

Life Out West has a lot of unique and loveable characters. And one of our favorites, is Rusty Cobb. Wonderfully illustrated by our game artist Steven Lambert, Rusty is a retired jockey who chose protecting and keeping the peace as a second career.
In Steven’s illustration, you immediately get a sense of size. No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you, Rusty is a very short man, and even he tries to overcompensate by riding an equally short horse. A horse with an intense, and hard stare I might add! I love the joy you see in Rusty’s, middle-aged face as he rides and whips his lasso like the fun-loving kid he once was. Sure, he may eat more bacon and enjoy the fine taste of pies these days but underneath it all, Rusty still thinks he is as quick and nimble as he was in his prime.
Strategically, Rusty is a great Lawman to have whenever you are working on a Building needing more than one Horse Resource. Just make sure you play all Horse Cards from your hand before the end of each turn, so you can take advantage of the free draw. And don’t forget, you can always replace an existing Horseman Hired Hand with one from your hand. Sure, it might seem strange, but I’ll tell you, it’s pretty sweet when an opponent means you harm and you after a successful Shootout you draw the Resource you needed. Thanks Lincoln, who’s laughing now!?!
Card: Lawman
Ability: After a successful Shootout, draw a Resource Card if you have no Horse Cards in your hand.
